The sixth grade students had a great time in outer space...or in Mrs. Van Leeuwan's class!  The students took an astronomy walk and looked at stars, constellations, the moon, and many other parts that make up our outer space.  The students had fun using marshmallows and spaghetti noodles to make different constellations, they looked at an ipad to see the patterns in the stars, they learned information on the internet and they made star gazing project to view stars on the ceiling.  

The students at Mt. Loafer had a special assembly to honor our local Veterans.  These brave men came and talked about where they had served and a little about what they did in the Armed Forces.  There were even a couple of fathers, Mr. Foster and Mr. Davenport, who are fathers of students at our school, who shared where they had served and what they had done for our country.  Mrs. Brown had the First and Second Graders sing a special song to the Veterans.  We can't express enough appreciation for all that these courageous people did for our country.

Our awesome PTO has worked especially hard to create a wonderful GOLDEN BEAR PAW STORE!  Students who meet the monthly reading requirements will have the opportunity to have their name put into a drawing.  Those students who have their name drawn will get to "buy" something from the Golden Bear Paw Store!  There are many wonderful items to get and the students will have a great time choosing which of the fun items they want!  Thanks to our great PTO for helping us to read and motivate us with such a fun store! 

The 6th Graders got a real workout exercising to Zumba!  They know how to get physically fit with a little music and some jazzy moves!  Keep working 6th Graders!

Mt. Loafer Third Graders want to give a big THANK YOU to American West Bank for donating dictionaries to each third grade student.  These dictionaries will be a great resource for the students to use in class and at home! Thanks, American West Bank!

We are excited to celebrate the students for the month of October!  These students have worked hard to set an example for their peers!  We appreciate their good work in class and in all they do!  The following students are:
