As special shout out to Nelson Barrett.  Nelson was one of forty fifth grade students to make it to the final round.  He finished the night with a net speed of 44 words per minute and 94% accuracy!

Parents and pastries are a favorite Book Fair activity at Mt. Loafer, and today was just another practically perfect parent pastry event!  Thank You PTO for working so very hard to help reading to be such a treat for our children!  We love how your effort encourages children's learning and bring so many smiles to faces!

Book Fair NERD Day Fun

Did you know that Dr. Seuss invented the word NERD?   It was the name of a creature in the book, “If I Ran the Zoo”.  To quote Dr. Suess’ book, Mr. Grew would collect "a Nerkle, a Nerd, and a Seersucker too" for his imaginary zoo.  In honor our last beloved book fair for the year and in honor of Dr. Seuss, who was the wizard of words.... Mt. Loafer had a very fun NERD day!
