Compound words may seem like an easy task and it is if you are in Miss Kerr's class.  Miss Kerr taught them how to make a compound word by giving each child part of a compound word then asked them to walk around the room and find their match.  As students roamed and read the two words together they found their match and went to sit with their new partner on the rug.  Miss Kerr highlighted each group by asking them to read both words to make the new compound word.  So fun!  Once they finished their lesson they got to go back to their seats and create their own compound word.  It was fun to see and hear the words they came up with: cupcake, eyeball, cowboy, rainbow, etc.

I love being in the classrooms at Mt. Loafer!  The quality of teaching that is happening every day is amazing.  Thank you Miss Kerr for being a wonderful teacher and example to the children at Mt. Loafer.
