eBooks at Mt. Loafer

Submitted by angela.killian on

Mt. Loafer Elementary is fortunate to start an ebook library for our children.  An ebook is a book in electronic format.  It is downloaded and read on the screen. This has been made available to us by the generous donations of the Landon Clark Hughes family.  We are so grateful for their continuing support in funding our school library.

Parents and students can have access to ebooks at home by following these simple instructions:

  • Go to the Mt. Loafer Elementary web page http://mtloafer.nebo.edu/ on the bottom left hand corner you will see a yellow and blue icon that reads ebooks.  Double click on the icon.
  • This will take you directly to the book shelf where you can browse the titles we have available.  If you choose to check a book out just click on the title and it will bring up a login page.  The user name will be your child's student number which is also their lunch number.  Hopefully most of the kids know this number by heart.  The password is the student’s last name, all lower case.  This should log you in and then you will be asked if you would like to check this title out.  Click “check out” and the book is yours for the next 7 days.  After the due date, the book will automatically be returned to the book shelf.

If you are using an ipad, iphone or an android device you can download the Follett shelf app.  By doing this you are able to actually download the book onto your device and read it anytime without Internet connection. It works the same way, you are just able to let the kids read on the ipad while in the car or on vacation.  If you do not download the book then you can read it online with Internet connections.  The app is called Follett Reader or a newer version is Enlight K-12 and both are free to download.  If you go through the book shelf this way the url is wbb36500.

Explore and if you have other questions please contact Mrs. Stephanie Spencer; her hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:45 AM -2:30 PM.   We hope you find this a new great tool to work with from home and if there are titles and authors that you are interested in seeing on the book shelf please let Mrs. Spencer know.
