Hi There Mt. Loafer Families!

We hope you are doing well and finding some fun things to do with your family as our Summer months start to slip away from us! We just wanted to communicate a few things with you as we are getting closer to the beginning of a new and interesting school year! We will do our best to send the most current information to you as we receive updates!

Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year

Just a reminder that school registration will open Monday, July 13th, and will go until July 30th. You will be able to access the link to register your child on the Mt. Loafer Website under the Registration tab or on the Nebo School District Website.

You will be able to do ansolutely everything regarding registration online; On our new platform Infinite Campus you will input or update your information, contacts, email addresses, phone numbers, etc., pay school donations, ($25.00/student) pay for lunch. You will also need to make a choice for your child between At School Learning and Remote Learning. New families with students coming to Mt. Loafer, and kindergarten students will be able to scan and upload their information (proof of address, immunization records, and birth certificates) for registration.

We will be able to have you  walk-in for registration as well, towards the end of July. More information will come soon for that. As always, you are welcome to call the office for online registration support any time M-Th 9:00am-1:00pm. We will have someone in the office during these hours who can walk you through the process (801) 423-2705 so you do not need to come in to the school. For your information, students will be able to find out who their teacher is the first part of August. We will let you know the exact date the district will be live for all elementary school placements! As you can imagine, balancing the remote learning registrations and face to face registrations will require us more time to place students in classes.

Reopening Information

Hopefully you all received the letter from our Superintendent. It outlines guidelines and requirements for students to safely return to school in August. I know there are many concerns and individual situations for both students and staff that need to be addressed. I want you to know that our staff and I are ready to teach, ready to help, ready to do what is best for students. While we may not have every answer to every question yet, we have the expertise of each teacher that knows children, knows curriculum, and knows how students learn. We will figure things out! These are challenging times for everyone, but we have taught our students that we can do hard things, attitude is everything, and we can be united in the CLIMB during such challenges!

Our theme this year is “ADJUST YOUR ALTITUDE!” With the right mindset we can move mountains and we believe wholeheartedly together we can do this. Our teachers are planning to help students academically, physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially. It is important for students to be at school and learn face to face. If this can’t be done, we totally support the Nebo District remote learning choice that will follow State Standards and be taught by a certified teacher. We will gladly help you with that choice as well. It will take ALL of us to help each child and we can do it! We have wonderful families that have helped, and continue to help our school be the very place students want to be!

We are planning protocol for sanitizing, classroom set up, lunch, social distancing, and visitors, as well as breaks where students can be free from wearing their masks for a bit. We are doing all we can to keep students and staff safe. We want learning to take place and to be as normal as possible! Please have confidence in what we are doing and know that we are here for you! We love our students and can’t wait to be with them again!
