WEATHER PERMITTING: *Sledding Day will be FRIDAY, January 25th. Each grade level will be sledding outside on the hill, as is tradition at Mt. Loafer. Please send your child with sledding appropriate attire on this date. Each grade level will be allocated a 30 minute time frame where they will get to sled on the South hill at the school. Students will then receive donuts and hot chocolate to warm up after their fun. Students are encouraged to bring sleds and tubes. No snowboards, skis, or ski bottom sleds will be permitted. Please put your name on your sled/tube. Siblings may share sleds as each grade level will have their own time on the hill. Questions, please email or call your child’s teacher.  If there is no snow we still plan to celebrate with donuts and hot chocolate this day! *First Grade will not be sledding this day as it is the 100thday of school and they will be dressing like they are 100 years old. Please see correspondence from our First Grade Teachers!

*School lunch accounts- We have several students who have delinquent lunch accounts. Please contact the school lunch department to settle these accounts as soon as possible (801) 423-2705. If your account becomes delinquent over a long period of time or shows owing a large amount of money we will follow district protocol in receiving these funds through our collection agency.

*Kindergarten Pre-Registration will be March 6thfrom 8:00am-4:00pm at Mt. Loafer.  In order to register your student we will need a copy of birth certificate, immunizations and 2 proofs of current residency within school boundaries. Note that this is a pre-registration. This pre-registration will help us build an online profile for your student, assign a student ID number to them, count them as a student for future enrollment numbers, etc. Enrollment for all students will be done in July/August.

Please pass this information on to your neighbors and friends in our boundaries that may not otherwise get the information. This pre-registration date is critical in helping determine how many classes of students we have next year as well as busing for morning and afternoon Kindergarten classes.

*Thank you for your continued support of our Boxtops drive. Our PTO is thankful for your participation and excited about our upcoming Super Bowl party! Are you getting ready for the big game? Buying all your supplies and planning who to cheer for? If so, we are inviting all our Mt. Loafer Grizzlies to come show your excitement and Spirit by participating in our Super Bowl Box Tops Drive!

Here’s how it works:

*Each Classroom will be participating against one another to see who can collect the most Box Tops from now until the end of January!

*Our PTO will be collecting Box Tops each Thursday in January (10th, 17th, 24th, 31st) and tracking our classes on the football field bulletin board  in front of the office. Teachers will each have a collection bag provided to them so be sure to hand your Box Tops to your classroom teacher before each Thursday morning.

*On Thursday, January 31st our final scores will be tallied and the class with the most Box Tops collected will win a SuperBowl Party on Friday, February 1st. The winning class will be announced that morning at our Mind Builders Assembly and party that afternoon in preparation for the upcoming Super Bowl.

*As a fun little reward and to showcase our school spirit we invite every Mt. Loafer Grizzly to wear his or her favorite Jersey, Sports Logo or team to school on Friday, February 1st! Don’t have a team jersey or shirt? That’s okay, come wearing your Mt. Loafer Tee or sweatshirt and represent our team!

GOOD LUCK Grizzlies and have fun collecting and watching our board for the winning team!

Keep collecting those Boxtops!

*If you are missing coats & hats you may be able to find them in our school lost and found. It is getting quite full already after the holiday break and we invite you to come rummage through it to find what may be yours.
