Substance Use

Start searching your couch cushions!  Penny Wars at Mt. Loafer will begin next Monday, March 4th and continue through Thursday.  Each class will have a jar located in the main hallway by the office.  Any money added to the jars will either earn or subtract points.  The grade level with the most points will earn a nacho party!  All funds will go toward the purchase of supplies for our "Cub Camp" wellness room and P.E. class.

The school would like to thank a private donor in supporting us to incorporate a kindness wall at our school. The purpose of the Uplift Kindness Wall is to build positivity within our staff and students, as well as teach our students the impact that positive words have on others. We invite parents to use the link below to submit kind words about the amazing students and staff that we have at our school.  (This link will also have a permanent spot under the "Parents" tab on our website.)

Don't forget! Mt. Loafer students will have the opportunity to have their Spring Pictures taken on Thursday, February 22nd.

Come have some fun at Take Your Child to the Library Day on  Saturday, February 24th at 11:00 am at Salem City Library.  This is an annual event where thousands of libraries around the world invite children to have fun, make friends, and discover their local library!  Clint's Reptile Room will be bringing giant reptiles for the kids to learn about and interact with, followed by free crafts and activities.

We are looking forward to an awesome Friendship Week next week, February 12th-16th.  Students and faculty can participate by dressing up each day.

• MONDAY: Get caught being kind!  Wear bright colors.
• TUESDAY: Make a grown-up friend!  Dress up like your teacher.
• WEDNESDAY: Be a friend to your class!  Wear red or pink.
• THURSDAY: Make a secret handshake!  Wear a hats and glasses.
• FRIDAY:  Mission Accomplished! Wear black.

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and that means Mt. Loafer Candy Grams- our annual fifth grade service project.  This year we will be donating all of our funds to the Mervyn Sharp Bennion Central Utah Home in Payson.  We will be selling them on Wednesday, February 7th through Thursday, February 13th.  The will be sold before school and during lunch recess.  The cost is $0.25 each.  We will only accept cash or checks.
