Letter to the North Pole!

Writing a letter to Santa can be a daunting task for a 5 year old.  Mrs. Peterson paired her students with Mr. Applegate's sixth graders to help the little ones compose a letter to Santa that would be "just right."  Sixth graders helped the Kindergartners ask Santa questions of "Do you have a chimney" and "What name would you like if you were an elf?" and "Tell Mrs. Claus and all the reindeer hello!"

Much To Be Thankful For

The Kindergarten and First Grade Students began their Thanksgiving Holiday early by having a fun feast!  The children enjoyed dressing up as Pilgrims and Native Americans to celebrate the holiday!  

Grandparents Day is a Big Success!

They trudged miles in the rain and snow just to go to school -- little did they know, they would be back.  Grandparents Day was held on Friday, November 21st, and judging by the smiles on the grandparents' faces, it was a big hit.  Grandparents assembled in the auditorium where Mt.

County Fair

Mt. Loafer students were able to learn a lot about the great state of Utah, thanks to the Fourth Grade!  Each year the students choose a Utah county to research and present their discoveries at the annual county fair!  They learn about the exciting places to visit, available resources, and fun facts from their county. Thanks, fourth grade students, for your hard work!

Pastries with our parents!

Gathered around tables, laying on the floor and hunched in corners in Mt. Loafer Elementary Wednesday were moms and dads and children sharing books and reading to each other for Parents and Pastries, part of the PTO bookfair.  The purpose for Parents and Pastries is a chance for families to celebrate and communicate the value of reading and literacy.  Thank you for attending!

PTO Expressions Contest

The PTO Expression program encourages Mt. Loafer students to explore their artistic talents. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students are encouraged to submit works of art in six arts areas:

  • Dance
  • Literature
  • 3D Art
  • Photography
  • Visual arts 

Students were challenged to create art inspired by a specific theme.  The 2014-2015 theme is "Unlock the Mystery"
