Parent Newsletter 4/15/19

Welcome to the last 30 days of school! We cannot believe how fast the time has gone this year and are looking forward to lots of learning and fun as we wrap up the school year!

*Opportunity to see Shakespeare in the schools: The Utah Shakespeare Festival is once again hitting the road with its Shakespeare-in-the-Schools touring production – this year performing one of the world’s first psychological thrillers, William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. An evening performance for everyone is this Tuesday, April 16, at 7:30 at Springville High School, 1205 E. 900 S., Springville, UT. And, admission is free. Michael Bahr, the festival’s education director directed this production. “For many of our audiences this will be the first time they have seen a professional Shakespeare production,” said Bahr. “This program seeks to entertain, enrich, and educate with innovative and accessible performances to rural and urban schools and communities, many of which would not have this opportunity otherwise.” Come be entertained and enriched with one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays – and again, admission is free!!!

*End of year testing is underway!  Many classes will be beginning our RISE Testing in grades 3-6.  Teachers will be testing over the course of several weeks.  Your child will not be testing every day, however, it is imperative that he/she is at school, reviewing and/or testing.  If your child is going to be absent during this testing period, please notify your child’s teacher so he/she can make arrangements for alternate days of testing.  First and Second grades will be testing April 23-May 11th, and the Kindergarten Assessment will be May 21-25.

*Scholastic BOGO Book Fair:  We are excited about our upcoming PTO Buy One Get One Free Book Fair April 22-26, with our Parents & Pastries Event at 8:00 am, on the 24th. We hope you will all come out for a doughnut and milk this morning.

We also need to inform you of a change with the Book Fair this year.  There will now be sales tax charged with each purchase.  We want to let you know that so you can be prepared when coming to the Book Fair!

Thanks so much for your support for our school!
