Submitted by sarah.blackhurst on

Congratulations to our newly elected student council members who were announced and introduced to our school in our opening STAR assembly today! Student Council is an organization of students who work towards improving their school and community.Student Council is made up of five representatives from 6th grade.  The Student Council will meet once a month to coordinate school and community projects.

In order to be a member of the Student Council, a student must:

  • be a good role model

  • demonstrate leadership qualities

  • maintain good citizenship grades (S in citizenship, no office referrals)

  • maintain grades of E’s and VG’s

  • maintain good attendance (few absences and tardies)

  • be available during lunch once a month to attend meetings

We thank all 6th graders who ran for student council and their desire to strive to be an example by following school rules, being friendly to all students and who try to make all students feel welcome at Mt. Loafer.  We love the fact so many students understand that learning comes first at Mt. Loafer and  feel that they can carry out many responsibilities and also continue to work hard in the classroom. We are so lucky to have so many amazing students at Mt. Loafer and look forward to our year together.
