We are thrilled to announce Mrs. DeAnn Grover as Mt. Loafer Elementary's Teacher of the Year for 2021-2022!  Here are a few things her colleagues had to say:

DeAnn is a very skilled educator and leader.  She works with many colleagues and college students to help build capacity for the many intricacies that teaching entails. She mentors practicum students from BYU providing those students additional knowledge to implement pedagogy that is taught in their courses through modeling, reflection and practice. DeAnn has also worked with the interns in our building taking them under her wing and helping them navigate their first year in the classroom.

DeAnn has an unique ability to truly meet the needs of all students academically and behaviorally. Her calm, structured presence and love for her students helps to create safety which results in higher levels of student learning. She embraces challenges and does what she needs to do to ensure that each student feels loved and that they are capable of learning.

DeAnn works hard and is always willing to go the extra mile for her coworkers and students. She cares about her students and the teachers she works with.

DeAnn is a quiet leader and leads by example. She is a stellar teacher, my own kids have had her. She always goes above and beyond and would do anything for anyone. She has been at Mt. Loafer for many years and is one of the reasons our school is so great!

DeAnn always has a positive attitude. She is welcoming to new teachers, helps mentor student teachers, and is always willing to participate in CMI. Her positive example and attitude is contagious.

Mrs. Grover is very much deserving of this award. Her skills and talents have touched so many lives throughout her career at Mt. Loafer Elementary. Congratulations! WE LOVE YOU, MRS. GROVER!
