Mt. Loafer Elementary Kindergartner Gavin Johnson stops by Mt. Rushmore during the Kindy 500 on Thursday, March 1st. The kindergarten students from Mrs. Nelson's a.m. and Mrs. Peterson's a.m. and p.m. classes made cardboard cars for the race and stopped to visit various patriotic symbols and people along the way; the White House, George Washington, the Flag, the Bald Eagle, Abraham Lincoln, the Statue of Liberty, and Mt. Rushmore. Love of the country is so critical. This annual event is a great way for teachers to promote patriotism in a hands-on and meaningful way.
