Friday marked the end of our first term and also was the day to celebrate the good citizens of Mt. Loafer!  Elaine Brewster came to our school and presented some wonderful stories centered around Halloween for all those students who didn't have any tickets!  Ms. Brewster showed some cool instruments and had some students  help her with music for part of the stories.  She had great costumes and kept the students mesmerized with her fun tales!

This month, Mrs. Killian brought a gigantic pumpkin to school that she grew in her garden.  She had a contest to see who could guess the weight of the pumpkin.  The winner got to take that pumpkin home and Paige Paxton was the lucky winner!  Paige's guess was 108 pounds which was the exact weight of the pumpkin!  Congratulations, Paige!

Service By Color!

Students at Mt. Loafer have worked extra hard this month to do kind acts of service for others.  On Friday they showed what they did this month by wearing the color that represented the kind act.  Students wore black if they did something kind, purple if they spoke kindly to someone, and orange if they kept their kind act a secret!  Here are a few things that students did:

Evelyn Bushman helped her brother with his homework.

Paige Youd gave a friend a hug.

First Grade Pumpkin Day!

Our first grade students were able to celebrate Pumpkin Day on Friday!  They did many fun things with their pumpkins, such as reading books about pumpkins, making food with pumpkin, drawing faces to go on their pumpkins, but best of all they got to carve their pumpkins!  Thanks to our first grade teachers for making this a special day!
