PTO Fall/Halloween Carnival: We will have our annual carnival on October 8th! Please mark your calendars and plan to come spend an evening full of outdoor fun with our grizzly family! Your student will soon bring home a flyer about times, ticket sales, auction baskets, etc. Our awesome PTO does a great job planning and executing this event. Whether new or returning to Mt. Loafer we are excited to have you come support our PTO fundraiser.
Hey Students! Do you have a talent you want to share with your grade level and even possibly our school? As part of Red Ribbon Week (October 8-12), we are going to have a school wide talent show to go along with our theme of The Greatest Showman. Each grade level will have a talent show where students can share their talents on a volunteer basis. These shows will be done in the gym for each grade on Tuesday, October 9th. Afterwards, two students from each grade level will participate in our school wide talent show on October 12th.
Many Thanks to you parents for all your patience as we gave our best efforts to navigate this past week of school. WELCOME HOME to many of you who were out of your homes for nearly ten days. We are thrilled for your families to be back in your homes, with each other, and all that you have worked for! We look forward to things returning to normal at home and school. Having buses running and nearly all our students back at school will definitely be welcomed. Thank you for your continued efforts and patience as we navigate getting back in our routines!
“Bald Mountain Evacuees. We realize how difficult it is being away from your homes. The Red Cross will be closing its center at Salem High School 9/17.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has allowed us to use their church building in Salem for evacuees to have a place to go during the day. It is located at 1129 South 250 West, Salem. Just South of the Mt Loafer Elementary school. It will be open 8 am to 3 pm.
Items being donated for evacuees are being dropped off and distributed at the Nebo School District Warehouse located at the Advanced Learning Center Complex in Salem (161 East 400 North). We need 8 volunteers for each time slot helping to unload and distribute donated items. Volunteers must be high school students or adults to help and able to lift up to 25 pounds. Thank you for being willing to volunteer.
Mt. Loafer believes the road to success is always under construction! To help support our students, we will be encouraging them to build a new mindset skill each month beginning at our school-wide assemblies. September’s skill is “I can set academic and behavior goals and work hard to achieve them.” Today we joined together as a school to learn about the skill. We also learned our new Mt. Loafer dance! We are so excited to watch our students and faculty grow this year!
