Masa Fukuda Visits Mt. Loafer Elementary
Masa Fukuda, a music composer and arranger well-known in the USA and Japan, spent the day at Mt. Loafer Elementary on Thursday, April 19th, 2012.
Mrs. Robin Brown, Mt. Loafer Elementary's music teacher, invited Masa to visit and inspire students by sharing his journey to becoming a very sought after composer and arranger. Robin Brown has worked personally with Masa Fukuda for years in Studio A children's choir and One Voice Children's Choir.
Mrs. Gloria Waddoups - Mt. Loafer Employee of the Year
Mt. Loafer Elementary School took time to honor Mrs. Gloria Waddoups as the Employee of the Year. Gloria may not be told everyday what a wonderful job she is doing, but Gloria touches the life of each and every child and teacher in the school every day. Mrs. Waddoups has created a place where students are given the opportunity to experience new ideas, explore great minds, and experience great art, while at the same time providing a sense of place for gathering. We love you Mrs. Waddoups!
Hope of America
Mt. Loafer's fifth grade along with about 2,500 elementary school students, presented the Hope of America program on April 17th. The students sing songs of hope, service and patriotism. The evening also provides some special dance and musical numbers.
The traditional American flag that covers the majority of the west-side bleachers in the arena is made up of the children wearing red, white, blue and gold Hope of American T-shirts. It is the focal point of the program.Salem Jr. High School Community Council

We would like to recognize the following students who during the month of March displayed compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility, optimism, and loyalty in creating a positive school environment. Mt. Loafer Elementary Kids Can...Change the World!
Mt. Loafer Elementary teachers and students have learned that when we take action, even in one small way, that action can send ripples into the world around us, just as water ripples in a lake.
Sleeping Beauty
On Friday, March 23rd, Ballet West visited Mt. Loafer. This fifty minute program included a short history of ballet specially designed for young children, followed by a sample of a daily ballet class. The dancers explained the aspects of ballet including basic ballet positions, technique, music appreciation, good posture and health.
The dancers concluded the presentation with a miniature performance of The Sleeping Beauty ballet.
Swimming at Springville City Pool
Why did the teacher jump in the pool - So she could test the water.
