Helping Hands for Harvey

Submitted by sarah.blackhurst on
With Hurricane Harvey being such a heartbreaking disaster, the students wanted to reach out and help other elementary aged students in Texas because many have lost all their school supplies and schools. We want to come together as a school community to help school children affect by Hurricane Harvey.  To do this we are going to designate Wednesday September 6th as "Helping Hands for Harvey Day"! We are going to ask that students bring $1 and dress as a "Texan" (western/cowboy attire) on this day.

I am from Southern California, born and raised. I love to read anything by Jane Austen, but Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte is my favorite book.

I was classically trained in opera in high school and enjoyed being a part of the choral program for 7 years. For hobbies I enjoy hiking, racquetball, watching movies, playing board games, and making my own homemade ice cream. I taught English in China for 4 months and it is what made me decide to become a teacher!
