Send those box tops to school...time for another Box Top competition!!  The class that collects the most box tops between January 9th through January 25th will get to choose either a movie with popcorn or hot chocolate and doughnuts.  Sounds yummy!!  Thank you, Mrs. Jennie Elder for heading this PTA assignment.   We appreciate all the parental support we have at Mt. Loafer, we couldn't hold school without you.

Happy Birthday Utah!

Submitted by angela.killian on

Utah was the 45th state in the USA; it became a state on January 4, 1896 and Mrs. Bradley's first grade celebrated Utah's birthday.

Her first grade students learned the geography of Utah.  They created a sugar cookie of Utah complete with the Colorado River, Green River, Great Salt Lake, Utah Lake, Bear Lake, and the mountain ranges.  They also inspected the state flag and learned what the  beehive, Sego Lily, and the Bald Eagle represent on the state flag.

Thank you Mrs. Bradley and Happy Birthday, Utah!

Sometimes change is difficult but it helps us grow in ways not yet known.  We are experiencing a change of leadership at Mt. Loafer and are prepared to move forward with this change.

We are so grateful for the time we spent with Mrs. Rudd and send her our love and best wishes as she embarks on her new adventure as principal of Brookside Elementary in Springville. We will miss you, Mrs. Rudd.

Readers Theater

Miss Dolman's third grade students are bound to love reading!  Her students become excited and enthusiastic about reading when they are presented with the opportunity to participate in Readers Theater. Readers Theater is an activity in which students, while reading directly from scripts, are able to tell a story, perform in groups, and practice using their voice to depict characters from texts.
